Light on the wallet and not bad weight either!!, May 27, 2012 By  fish36 - See all my reviews This review is from: ALPS Mountaineering Zenith 2 AL Tent - 2-Person, 3-Season (Misc.) This tent has been in my rotation for 3 years now. Even though it does not qualify for "true " ultra-lite tent it is very managable and can be brought back to 4 lbs with sack/tags/gear loft, etc removed as well as the spreader pole. It is not completly necessary but if it is windy it will be needed. (I have used a stick for the spreader and I do not have to carry the spreader pole) In good weather the fly could easely be left behind. I have used the "Zephr 2" as a one person tent and with my 13 yr old or wife as a 2 person. For the price and construction I see no better tent on the market! Fends off rain really well ..wind well.. etc.. For hard core guys it most likly is not the way to go. But for me, the 2 vestibules, 2 doors, its perfect! We both have or our doors ....
