World's most expensive groundsheet, December 14, 2011 By Chipsbunty (Portland OR) - See all my reviews This review is from: Nemo Equipment Meta Ultralight Trekking Tent (Sports) Apparently designed to look good on showroom floors and suburban lawns but in the real world of mild inclines and varying soils it is worthless. Conditions that even the cheapest tent would have shrugged off make the Nemo Meta 1P useless. It won't stay up reliably in even optimal conditions and even then has to be weighted with a quarry's worth of rocks and propped up with sticks. If you want to go ultralight buy a tarp and save your money.
As for me I'm back to my 4 pound Sierra Designs tent.

It's been on canyoneering trips in Utah and Arizona. On long hikes in the sierras and the cascades. I even used it on a 5 week bicycle tour by crafting a pole front an old tent. It has served me well through rain, heat, and wind.
Setup does have it's quirks though. Unlike many other tents you definitely want to read the directions. If you follow the order shown in the directions you will get a nice taut pitch. If not, then you will have some difficulty getting everything set up correctly. Thus, I would say that this is a tent for more experienced users. It is lightweight; but, you've got to know what you are doing to get a good taut pitch.
