Wenzel Wolf Creek Family Dome Tent Reviews
5 of 5 people found the following review helpful Not pleased, July 27, 2011 By Sam Hall (Queens, NY) - See all my reviews Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Wenzel Wolf Creek Family Dome Tent (Sports) This tent sets up very easy, I had no trouble with the rain fly as some reviewers did. After setting it up in 20 minutes, I was so happy with the looks of it. Early the next morning it rained and the tent leaked big time. I used seam sealer right after I set up. The real problem area's are the stitched in pockets on both sides of the tent. Water was pouring down the sides of the fly and right through the poor stitching in that area. My initial apprehensiveness about buying this tent without a bathtub floor came back to bite me as the lining on the floor started to leak as well. (I had a well fitted tarp underneath) bottom line don't be seduced like I was for a big tent for such a cheap price. It could be such a better tent if it was manufactured correctly. I won't use it again.

I set the tent up the first time in the same 20 minutes and figured out how I would be doing it the following weekend at a busy group camping trip to the Adirondacks. I can do it solo in about 15 minutes now.
Before using the tent flop it out in your yard and get some moisture barrier plastic sheeting from your giant-box-home-supply-store-of-choice so you can cut a ground sheet. It's an odd shape to cut (chase the border of the tent 1" inboard of the edges with an opened scissors - takes 5 minutes) but a ground sheet is necessary.
I wanted a dome with a vestibule and clip-to-pole assembly for max air flow under the fly. Like the previous reviewer it would be great if there were windows on the two 'back' walls, but the two provided are big and more than adequate. Leave the tent door open and the... Read more

My first impression was that it is pretty heavy compared to my 2-person tent, but I expected as much. Rolling the tent out on the lawn made me realize just how big this tent is. It's Huge! (17' long).
Putting the tent together went quickly. The first time took about 20 minutes, subsequent setups took about 10 minutes. It does require a second person to be inside the tent while the other person attaches the poles. Chances are you'll have someone to help you if you're buying a tent this size. I'm pretty sure I will find a way to set this up myself though.
My main purposes for buying this tent are that my Coleman 4-in-1 Quickbed completely filled my old 2-person tent, I needed more room for gear inside the tent, and I wanted a separate mud room for my St... Read more
