best tent ive ever had, August 12, 2011 By tom quartz (costa rica) - See all my reviews This review is from: Skyledge 3 Tent - 3 Person by Mountain Hardwear (Misc.) spacious, i used this as my one person home in the jungle for eight months in costa rica. this tent lasts. no water leakage ever, never damp in the jungle.
it is a perfect home for me, to stay up late and play guitar, burn candles and read, have a safe space, watch the stars through the full mesh siding. when having a guest for the night it is still spacious as a two person...this tent is not expensive for the quality. my other tent was a sierra designs 3 person and it waffled in the wind so i could never sleep. this skyledge 3 was perfect. the 3rd crosspole really makes the difference, i will never go two pole again. the 3rd pole makes the side walls vertical and drastically increasing livability. the vestibules are big enough for a large pack or to protect a guitar.
the rule is basically, whatever the capacity in persons any tent is labeled as, that is what it will fit when packed. so always buy bigger if you want to be comfortable.
